Caiti Baker takes home overall award of NT Song of the Year with ‘Make Your Own Mistakes’
The 6th year of the NT Song of the Year Awards saw Darwin based singer-songwriter, Caiti Baker take home the overall, coveted prize of NT Song of the Year after also bagging the awards for both the Pop and Blues & Roots categories.
With thirteen awards presented to talented Northern Territory songwriters, the event presented by MusicNT held at the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT, was attended by industry representatives, media, local government representatives and friends who all got involved in the night’s live performances by NT Song of the Year finalists; Sam Carmody, Phoebe Wear, Caiti Baker and Baker Boy.

The NT Song of the Year Awards is an annual initiative presented by MusicNT, to recognise and showcase the diverse songwriting talent in the Northern Territory. Introduced in 2012, the 'NT Song Awards' were created as a means to promote and celebrate the original music of published and unpublished artists from across the Territory. Entry categories include Rock, Pop, Folk, Urban/ HipHop, Blues & Roots, Country, Heavy, Dance & Electronic, Youth (aged 25 and under) and the Tourism NT Territory Song. Additional awards include People's Choice and the overall NT Song of the Year Award.
The NT Song of the Year Awards is the premier celebration of songwriters in the Territory, held annually under the stars at the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT in Darwin.
