The Reference Group will assist us in planning, coordinating, operating and evaluating our Indigenous Women’s Music Program (IWMP) and the overall Development Plan that guides our work in this area. Please refer to the attached Terms of Reference for the Reference Group, a copy of our current Women’s Music Plan and a link to MusicNT’s overall Strategic Plan or download these from our website.

Celebrating Women in Music
LOVE LIVE MUSIC 60 second film competition – NOW OPEN!
We know that the Northern Territory is home to a vibrant and growing music scene, but we also know there is more to be done to help it grow.
Which is why MusicNT, thanks to support from the Northern Territory Government is developing the first contemporary live music strategy for the Northern Territory.
The decision to develop the strategy came after the release of the Economic and Cultural Value of Live Music in the Northern Territory report. It confirmed that the NT has a higher than national average return on investment per spend on live music.
The report shows the live music sector is worth over $74 million to the NT economy and provides a return on investment of over $4 for every $1 invested.
That is not to say our live music scene is not without its unique challenges and the aim of the plan will be to develop a shared-vision on how we can grow opportunities for artists, the industry, and venues.
And we want to hear from you. For the first time MusicNT is launching surveys to capture the thoughts of both music fans and industry alike.
Surveys will remain open until early August, but get in quick to have your voice heard.
Additionally, two special one-day forums will be held in August in Alice Springs and Darwin.
These forums will bring together representatives from across the music community to share ideas and identify roadblocks that need to be addressed.
Full details of the forums are below:
TUESDAY AUGUST 6

FRIDAY AUGUST 9

If you work in the industry and can’t make it to either of these forums, fear not as there will be ongoing consultation happening as we develop this plan.
