Dom Alessio did what anyone with a psychology degree does: leaves four years of university behind and, without any real experience, becomes a music journalist. Cutting his writing chops in the world of street press, Dom was hired as the Arts and Assistant Editor for Sydney street press The Brag. While working at The Brag, freelancing for various publications and websites and co-founding what might’ve been the first blog dedicated solely to Australian music, Who The Bloody Hell Are They, he got his first taste of radio when he began volunteering at FBi Radio in Sydney. It was here that Dom got his first radio gig: hosting FBi’s Sydney music show The Bridge once a week. In 2009 Dom took the leap into full time radio when he was hired as one of the hosts of triple j’s Australian music show Home & Hosed and since 2011 he’s been the show’s sole presenter. His days are now filled with listening to Australian music. The psych degree still hangs on the wall at home.
