Katherine Music Week 2013

As part of the RAMP Initiative, MusicNT, APRA AMCOS and ArtbackNT relocated to Katherine for one week (15-18 April 2013) to work with the community to provide music information and workshops to help support, promote and celebrate the Katherine music scene.  The Katherine Music Week Office was based at venues around town and included workshops, networking and performance opportunities including a big concert featuring David Spry and the Moral High Ground. This program was run in partnership with Katherine Regional Arts, Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre (GYRACC) and local schools, the community choir and other local music champions.

 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED:

  • Sista Sounds program with mentors Catherine Satour and Kirra Voller provided workshops in songwriting, performance and music industry.
  • Vanessa Hutchins (Artback NT, MusicNT) & Phillip Eaton (APRA, MusicNT) ran workshops in basic stage craft and venue operations through GYRACC.
  • Amy Hetherington (MusicNT) ran workshops in social media marketing for your music.
  • Paolo Fabris (CDU) ran vocal workshops with school students and the community choir.
  • GYRACC & Artback NT presented David Spry and The Moral High Ground on Thursday 18 April, with support by Serina Pech.
